WHAT YOU FOCUS ON, EXPANDS
-------------------------------------
Was cruising down my notes..... oh yeah plenty of them... squeezed between the pages of a book... resting at the bottom of my basket tray.... inside the pockets of my bag (alongside pen and notepad which goes with me anywhere I go).... or beside the telephone in the living room... etc. wherever you see paper with scribblings on it --- it could possibly definitely be mine.
.
Why the penchant for notes? Why not!? Life presents so many opportunities or subjects for the writing. We can't simply pass up the chance to see the many details life provides us which can bring color, majesty, diversity, enchantment, enlightenment to our mundane lives. We could be missing it all if we don't or won't pay close attention. It may never come again.
.
It's just like a composer of music ... his inspiration can come at the slightest object seen or experienced or encountered, insignificant or grand. He doesn't see things as other people see them..... he sees more and beyond the object. (Maybe we should be as that composer -- with eyes that truly 'see'.) Or maybe he sees with the eyes of his heart.
.
Somebody once said....... 'What you focus on, expands.' That ..is the intent for the note-writing and, more often than not, is achieved. With a little nudge from above.
.
Below was what I found. Two separate quotes but actually complement each other. Read and know why................
.
1) 'Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways.' --- Stephen Vincent Benet
.
2) LIFE IS A GIFT
.
Today before you think of saying an unkind word–
........... think of someone who can’t speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food–
........... think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife–
........... think of someone who is crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life–
........... think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children–
........... think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep–
........... think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive–
........... think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job–
........... think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another–
........... remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to One maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down–
........... put a smile on your face and thank God you’re alive and still around.
Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, and Fulfill it.

....and unquote.
.
And while you're at it celebrating, say a prayer for every worthy cause and reason you may see, too. (That is worth more than all the gold in Fort Knox.) God will use your prayers for good far more than you ever realize. Pray unceasingly. Blessings to you and your dear ones.

APPRECIATING THE PRESENT MOMENT
--------------------
You know, this is so true. Sometimes I forget what a lovely day I'm having...... just because I focus too much on something else. So I keep reminding myself that nothing should be too great nor too grand to ever stop me from appreciating the present moment........ that lovely presence of pulsating life in the here-and-now.
That now moment when you feel the oneness with time. None of the 'I have to do this or that..' .....or worrying about tomorrows.... or pining for yesterdays already gone. Just being in that now moment of being. Appreciating everything that is there in that experience of ...... life!
Hugs, friends; I feel so blessed just remembering you.

WE ARE WIRED FOR GOOD THINGS
" Life is like a camera...
Focus on what's important,
Capture the good times
Develop from the negatives,
And if things don't work out
Take another shot."
(Author Unknown)

Focus. That seems quite easy to do. Yes, if one has learned to sift through the bits and pieces of a crazy day or life. Otherwise we usually get derailed or loose our sails, too find it hard to get back on track again. So then recharge, regroup strengths, realign, reset focus once more. And hope it does the trick and the picture comes out right.
Capture. Admittedly times when something passes our attention and we realize it too late that it was something good... really good. This always happens when we are just too much into ourselves. That nothing ever matters except the I, Me, My, Mine of things. So we don't often notice the landscape of our lives. There are far more interesting things and experiences other than who we think we are. Yes, because this big wide world isn't all about the singular me.... but also all about the wonderful diversity which God made sure we should have.
Develop. Yes, that's what we're supposed to do and be doing with our lives. Learn well new things. Learn even so much more when bad comes... which is said to be there for our learning and betterment. Unfortunately we don't always hit the mark with this one. Human nature, I guess, which tends to enjoy a little bit of misery or is it just a weak call for attention. But haven't we been told that we are wired to succeed whatever the challenge? Or survive as our personal histories testify, if we take time to look back at it. Admit that somewhere there was a bit of positivity which propelled us to move forward strongly and has taken us to where we are at this point in time.
Take another shot. This runs parallel to the one above in terms of not giving up. Truth of the matter is, there is no other option nor choice. Because in whatever circumstance we find ourselves.. we are always required by some unseen hand to 'take another shot' at it when the first time had us failed. We do take another shot at... life, relationships, education, jobs, applications, business, dreams, governance, goals, or simply in wanting to be pretty, and whatever else humans are designed to go through in life. We take another shot because we have tied our dreams, hopes, or the whole of our lives to it. Nobody need tell us that, I think, because we do it everyday. It's second nature, like breathing. It's life; it's what we do. Thank God!
We must be good... we are God's work.
Yet glory to God. He wired us for good things.
Blessings, everyone!

MAKE TODAY COUNT
When I told my best friend about this on the phone, she simply brushed it aside in one clean sweep with this quote...........
"Think not of the amount to be accomplished, the difficulties to be overcome, but set earnestly at the little task near your elbow, letting that be sufficient for the day; for surely our plain duty is not to see what lies dimly at a distance but to do what lies clearly at hand." ----- Lifted from 'A Way Of Life'. Sir William Osler's speech to the students of Yale University
But what put me back safe and sane on the ground once more was this precious wisdom I remembered from the Book.............
Jesus said...
"So don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough worries of its own." ----- Matthew 6:34
So, people, the next time you get into this same kind of frenzy look into the mirror, take a deep breath, and say... 'Today is what you have... tomorrow has yet to come. Make TODAY count.' And swiftly shall peace, love, and happiness be restored in your spirit.
Okay, folks, be seeing you around; got this something to do in a bit. Small stuff but I think it would be great to do it. Bye for now. Blessings!
