YOU ARE WHAT YOU FEED

πŸ€“A good friend said this (in email) ..."Len, this one has helped me a lot. Eight years ago and still doing its job now. Just to let you know. Thanks."
πŸƒ
I'll say this... honestly, it's so appreciated if someone tells me that the essence of the writing resonates in the heart, mind, and soul. It tells me this one simple thing: basically we are the same. And the writings reflect that sameness running through a person's thoughts and emotions, man or woman. Aptly then we would say "Yeah I know, been there-done that".
.
😊 Thank you very much, dear friend; appear tayo diyan.
.
☺️ Here's the story and to quote......

A native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said, "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one."
.
πŸ™„The grandson asked him, "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?" The grandfather answered, "The one I feed." Unquote.

.
πŸ‘‰That's a good one, don't you think? The biggest battles that we fight are those with self. Anyone who says it isn't is not paying much attention to life. Either he has got himself so entrenched in his comfort zones or is feeding something else other than the two choices mentioned in the story..

Remember what has been said about 'you are what you eat'? In the same sense it can be said that 'you are what you feed'. Maybe we should be asking ourselves which of the two wolves do we feed.. the vengeful, angry, violent wolf - or - the compassionate loving one?
.
😊In our everyday lives is an opportunity or several to make that choice. Mom would always remind me to choose that which would make the heavens smile. Choose that which would make you a blessing to others and to yourself as well. Be true to yourself and to others. That, I believe, is the whole point of the story of our lives.

THE WORLD AWAITS YOUR LIGHT

-----------
πŸŒΉπŸ’–
"There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." --- Edith Wharton

Stumbled on this quote while cruising down the internet. Yup I have seen this before. In fact, several times. And I think 'have used it too in one of my blog posts long ago. But it never grows old. The message holds true now as it did back then.

It's a choice ....
the candle or the mirror?

Perhaps someone out there may be wondering 'what is this light all about?' Well, it isn't totally meant in the spiritual sense. Some shy away from this task. I know. It is a personal thing between you and your God. But a bit of it cannot harm anyone or yourself either. Yet when we speak of 'light' there is always a connection to the Divine.

What it suggests is sharing the basic goodness of man. It is being that person we were designed to be in the first place. It is doing the things which promote or build peace, happiness, harmony, understanding, courage, faith, compassion, respect, responsibility, consideration, cooperation, generosity, kindness, and other tools of goodness and benevolence towards others and the world.

It is bringing forth this goodness.. your light.. to others .. to our world.

Nope, it need not always be in a grand or grander scale. But it has it uses, too. Rather it can be the simple ordinary things in the daily flow of life done extraordinarily well with your personal stamp of good. Reaching out to a single person or a greater number are both the same in the same spirit of the light.

Either way carries the light to the world. Thankfully it does. I remember mom say....... "Be that light where you are. Grow where yo u are planted. Use your God-given gifts. With a diversity of ways and reason laid out for you. Bring that light to one another .. to the world. It's all by Divine design."

But tarry not; we don't have a thousand lifetimes. God bless you.🌹

BECAUSE I CAN -- IT'S A CHOICE

------------
What's on my mind today..... so somebody asks, not that he cares. But I do care to tell. Because somebody out there might need to hear it. He or she might need to hear what a day is like in the life of one of God's creation. And after hearing maybe just maybe it would light up the spark kindling in the heart that never was given the chance to shine out to the world brightly. There's plenty of us who live very quiet lives holding that spark within quietly. So thus here are my thoughts today...........

---- I can let any of my daughters choose the movie they want to see or pick the dish on the menu in a posh restaurant without having to ask of mine own choices if that puts huge smiles on their faces. Because I can.

---- I can shelve my precious free time to listen to my best friend when she calls on the phone with her miseries and woes. Because I can.

---- I can write of things which may not be popular to a greater number of people because it could be something about the harsh truths of life which they don't really want to know. Because I can.

---- I can stop by a display window at the mall gazing at gorgeous fashion and accessories of jewels shoes and bags without batting an eyelash and messing up my wallet. Because I can.

---- I can speak my mind honestly when necessary if the goal was to shake some sense into another person confused and unsure in his hour of darkness. Because I can.

---- I can cry in the privacy of my room, kneel down and pray when things get so tough and tougher. Because I can.

---- I can do a lot more other than what I have been born with as I acknowledge the power of God within me. Because I can.

It's a CHOICE. A choice to do what is good, what is necessary, what is essential, what is kind or noble or meek or generous or compassionate, and what is simply called --- 'doing my job'. A humbling of self so that others could have their joys. An honest acknowledgment of what we should really be doing here with our lives. You see, we have a job .. but our boss is HE who sits on the throne up there in the great halls of heaven.

And what, you may ask, is that JOB? It's simply this.......... to be the best we can be to ourselves and to others with who we are-what we have and aim for the greater glory and praise of a wonderful God and Father. He who loves us beyond measure -- constantly, unfailingly... whether we deserve it or not.

Make the right choices.. and do your job. You were created to do far more than you ever dreamed you could as a person and as a child of God. We cannot do anything less or lesser than that. Shine as you are right there where God has placed you. And make it your goal to make God smile. Everyday.
