BE A RAINBOW IN SOMEONE'S CLOUD

“Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” --Maya Angelou

I think that's what we’re supposed to do in this life. Life is tough and sometimes somebody else has it even tougher. We can't simply leave them behind in this long journey. We must give them that much needed push to persevere in this long tough journey and get to that destination called our final home - a place which we all are supposed to arrive at, by God’s design. If it's called being a 'rainbow in someone's cloud'... so it is. But that, simply stated, is what God has commissioned us to do to each another.

So let's try with whatever opportunity God shoots our way and armed with this God-given gift granted us to strive to work towards that common goal. I see many others do in their own respective unique ways and talent. Maybe some do it in a grand or grander scale and then some in utterly quiet unobtrusive ways. But it's all the same. It's the same beautiful rainbow painting a person's life with magnificent colors of hope, faith, courage, charity, strength, resiliency, and an unflagging belief that everything will work out fine one day soon. It surely will. By God's design.

Blessings, everyone. Keep the fire burning.

MAYBE IT'S JUST ONE-FOURTH OF A RAINBOW BUT.....

Today is January 4, 2013, Friday...........

The overcast skies above failed to dampen my resolve to get on with my usual early morning walk. Glad that I did because just about a few minutes into my walk I saw this lovely rainbow.... not a full one, not even half of it, but just one-fourth of a rainbow! But it was enough to bring a song to my heart. Because that's what a rainbow does, at least to me. It tells you so much what life is all about.... colorful, vibrant, diverse... it reminds me of newness, potential, possibilities, hope, dreams, and of God's promise that the best is yet to come.

No, it doesn't say that troubles are over or no more. What it says is that troubles will come as it always will in life but it will pass as surely as the night turns into daylight. And that we can breeze through the transition armed with courage, determination, perseverance, confidence in self, and a steadfast belief and faith in GOD. Rainbows come to seal that glorious promise of rebirth.

We should learn from the past and learn well that always at some point or other in our lives we go through --- change, transition, progress, creation and recreation. And always the movement should be forward. FORWARD. No turning back, no dwelling in the past, no looking back except to pluck out the lessons essential to our present journey.

Well, the rainbow disappeared with the rising of the glorious sun. But it succeeded what it had set out to do.... bring the song back to my heart.

I hope the first week of 2013 gave you a glimpse of the best waiting for you up ahead. If there's none yet, create it. Or just wait a wee bit more. God is definitely working on it. Believe.

Blessings to you all!

RAINBOW SOULS

I've met 'rainbow souls'. Yeah, I like to call them that because just like a rainbow comes after the rain.. they bring back the joy, smile, and hope into lives where once thought would never show itself again. By their mere presence they help one cope with life's turbulent waters. By their steady strength and support they make one want to believe and hope again. By the beauty of their minds they make one see beyond those barriers or walls which keep away dreams. By the gentleness of their hearts they restore one's inner core or get you back connected to it much in better form.

Sadly my rainbow souls had to leave. Beautiful friendships. Alas, life took them into other directions -- but perhaps to minister to other hurting souls and that is so okay. Maybe I'll be seeing them again someday. Who knows?! One thing's sure they're irreplaceable. Will always keep their memory alive.

But three very special rainbow souls have gone and never will return again. That felt like losing a huge chunk of me. 'Thought I'd never make it alone. But I was wrong for they left their footprints behind -- in my heart and it's like they're always there -- accepting me for who-what I am, pushing me to reach my best, reminding me to stay on track, giving me the inspiration to follow my dreams, keeping that laughter and song in my head and heart alive. They're there for me.. always will be. My rainbow souls... Mom, Dad, kid brother Jesse. Love you!!! --- Know your rainbow souls? They're just there. If you can't see them with your eyes, see them with your heart.

"Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same." ~ Flavia Weedn
