I like this quote; saw it just today >>>
"Don't try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It's the one and only thing you have to offer." -- Barbara Kingslover
Reminds me of someone who said to me months ago.....'Huy, mahirap mag-facebook o blog, kelangan smart ka at sasakay ka sa trend dito.' - (Not easy doing blogs or facebook. You've got to be smart and ride on its trend bandwagon.)
Yah think?? Whatever one says here, I believe, comes from one's history and that makes sense. A person thinks-speaks-acts according to, dictated by, and gathered from his past - his personal history and experience - observations insights and beliefs - which shaped and continually shapes him. Everybody has a story to tell. Be it light, heavy, sad, scary, silly, naughty or nice. Everybody has something to say. You've got to be your own authentic self. What is essential perhaps is to learn how to say it right... so that people don't walk away embarrassed, disgusted, offended, belittled, diminished or turned off by your piece. But instead will stop stay and listen to your stories of true joy, faith, hope, love, courage, comradeship, learning, positivity and inspiration.
The world has enough wars to keep it busy. We don't need to add up to those things which only serve to destroy peace and harmony, within and without. The rule of the universe is not to tear people down but rather to build them up. You alone can best figure out how.
True...and I enjoyed how you said it! Very upbeat and positive!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is true but sometimes we just dont have the courage to say the things we really want to say. And I think that is the major factor that deters us from saying the things we really want to say.
ReplyDeleteLovely day to see you, Theanne. :-) Delighted each time you come by. Have a blessed day. God bless!
ReplyDeleteWelcome, Raajii! :-) True, have come to a situation like that too. But have learned from it that when you have the desire or honest intent to say something worthwhile... you will find the courage to say it. Not saying it may deprive another of some bit of wisdom, truth, knowledge, inspiration, learning. We are here for each other as teachers-students in life. We each have so much to give and so much to learn. It's God's way to keep us growing and connected.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your interesting comment. Love the exchange of ideas; brings life to the blog, any blog for that matter. :-)
Have a pleasant day. God bless you and your family.
Agree with you. Most often we say things that others want to hear or hear things that we want to hear, which is reason for most misconceptions, misunderstandings, arguments etc!
ReplyDeleteHi RGB! Was the year that passed quite busy for you? I hope the new year will be kinder and give you some time to squeeze in some blogging. :-) Thanks for this lovely visit. Blessings to you and your family.
