HAVE YOU TRULY FULFILLED YOUR MAIN PURPOSE IN LIFE

'Twas the time of day when time seemed to stand still. Some people may try taking a nap to ease the sluggish hours away through sleep. Others watch something on TV. Still others would raid the cupboard for a huge snack to munch on. I wouldn't hesitate to do any one or the other but this time I decided to cruise down the internet, not sure what to look for, but just coast along hoping that I hit the jackpot of catching a worthy item to read or learn from.

And this caught my eye......... an excerpt from Pastor Jason's blog post. (a blog I stumbled upon). To quote:

"Fulfill God’s Purpose for You in Your Generation: ---- I love what the New Testament says of King David, “Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep.” (Acts 13:36) .

That is a good question, isn't it? Have you ever thought about that?

Allow me to share my thoughts.

I believe ...Man does not think about that at all.... well, not until he is old or older. Let's be honest with ourselves, when we were young all that really mattered to us was making it big in this life i.e. a good position in a well-paying job..... a bright career and profession..... a great marriage..... a big house, flashy cars and all the trappings of wealth..... being popular in the social world..... being famous..... receiving dozens of titles or recognition..... making a name for ourselves..... fulfilling our goals and dreams, and etc. It was all and everything about  "I" .. "Me" .. "My" .. and .. "Mine".
.
And we all get to have it in different measure, package, and level or degree. True. And we're happy. Satisfied. Sated. Content.
.
Then Father Time begins ticking loudly. So loud that it bothers even our sleep. Father Time seems to be in so much a hurry, we now notice. We're growing older.
.
Then all that is left for us now are just memories. And........
.
this question............. "Have you truly fulfilled your main purpose in life?" To some this question may come early and then to others quite late. But definitely there must or should be an answer to the question.

Because it matters. By God's design.

OF BLOGGING... STORIES.... AND STORYTELLERS

There is a diversity of reasons why people do what they do. In every area of our lives -- the whatever-however-wherever it may be -- is what makes up your story. Every bit and piece in it is everything that tells the world who you are. Because everybody is a story.
.
But -- that is just one part of the whole..... Completing that is the listener. One is nothing without the other. Somebody tells -- somebody listens. Somebody writes -- somebody reads.
.
Try cruising down a blog site, stop awhile and visit a blog or blogs and you will know what I mean. You will begin to appreciate such display of diversity, of interests, and the wide range of expression in telling it. The thing to remember is that it's not just all about words or pictures but it's all about people and their stories. and how it's told.
.
Some people, as I have heard them say, remark that it's a frivolous or flippant world and is such a waste of time. I will disagree to that. If some blogs do appear as such it does not necessarily reflect the site or the activity itself but rather it simply points you to the person writing it. The work is reflective of its creator.
.
Each day adds another page to our life story. Make it count, make it matter. Learn whatever there is to learn every time the learning comes to your doorstep. Recognize and appreciate the carrier of the lesson -- acknowledge its presence... the person who is simply sharing his or her own story. As you have yours and share it too in your own special way in your own corner of the world and universe.

TODAY IS PERFECT FOR A PERFECT DAY

A friend asked recently 'what do you do on a boring day such as this?' I would like to think that she was referring to her boring day as we shared a good meal in a nice resto at the mall. Because my day was getting along just fine, with her in it.

Nope, I didn't take offense on her remark because apparently she was having trouble coping with her so-called 'boring day'. I took a good bite of my cheesecake and asked my best friend .. 'Ba't mo nasabi yan?' ('Why do you think it's boring?')

'Walang magawa eh!' she replied with eyes rolling. (Nothing to do!)
'Eh anong ginagawa natin dito?' I replied. (So what are we doing here?)
'Ala lang!' she retorted with a big sigh. (Nothing!)

That's as far as I will tell you about that chat with my good friend. Of course that chat was longer than usual for obvious reasons.

We do have days like that, don't we all? I do, rather I used to, and I reacted just like her some years ago. Until someone special told me this............... 'Boring is just a perception. Look deeper into the day -- you might be surprised yet.'

So I learned. Better yet ---- create a wonderful day!

And a huge chest of treasures I found right there inside a 'boring' day! On my own time or with my dear family, I learned to blog.... do fb.... painted in watercolor.... designed gowns.... rode on an ATV.... strolled down the white cool sand on the beaches of Bora.... rode on a bus to the Baclaran Shrine.... found great books at my favorite bookstore.... ate a Vietnamese lunch.... enjoyed a late evening snack at Bancheto.... went joy riding through the streets of Manila.... had a delicious lunch at Sonya's Garden in Antipolo.... another lunch at the Buon Giorno restaurant at The CliffHouse Tagaytay.... admired the awesome Taal Volcano.... went to see a great movie at the mall.... had lunch with my three best friends.... bought gorgeous fresh flowers at the flower shop.... painted a wall in the living room.... clipped off weeds in my small patch of a garden.... watched and listened to great music videos at YouTube.... watched the Lights and Sounds show at the Ayala Gardens.... played with my dogs in the garage.... sew two bags out of two pairs of old blue jeans.... sat through my favorite TV shows (National Geography, LifeStyle Network, Food Network, Hawaii Five-O, HBO...) .... and many more I have yet to discover.

So you see there is no such thing as a boring day because that is all up to you. The thing is don't put to waste what God has prepared for you with each day with every hour with every moment. He means to give you a great day and live life to the fullest. Show Him that you agree to that wonderful plan. Thank you, God!

Reminds me of someone who said to me months ago.....'Huy, mahirap mag-facebook o blog, kelangan smart ka at sasakay ka sa trend dito.' - (Not easy doing blogs or facebook. You've got to be smart and ride on its trend bandwagon.)

Yah think?? Whatever one says here, I believe, comes from one's history and that makes sense. A person thinks-speaks-acts according to, dictated by, and gathered from his past - his personal history and experience - observations insights and beliefs - which shaped and continually shapes him. Everybody has a story to tell. Be it light, heavy, sad, scary, silly, naughty or nice. Everybody has something to say. You've got to be your own authentic self. What is essential perhaps is to learn how to say it right... so that people don't walk away embarrassed, disgusted, offended, belittled, diminished or turned off by your piece. But instead will stop stay and listen to your stories of true joy, faith, hope, love, courage, comradeship, learning, positivity and inspiration.

The world has enough wars to keep it busy. We don't need to add up to those things which only serve to destroy peace and harmony, within and without. The rule of the universe is not to tear people down but rather to build them up. You alone can best figure out how.

A GIFT TO MY BLOG FRIENDS

Hi Folks!

I was sitting at the computer one day last week and cruising down my blog archive. And honestly I was literally amazed by the Comments section and felt so overwhelmingly thankful for all the lovely, inspiring, warm, encouraging, and endearing comments and messages seen on every post written through the weeks, months, and years. Am so lucky and blessed to have such wonderful people visiting and viewing the blog. You made the blog so special and of course gave me my widest smile every time you dropped by. You bet! :-)

And so I thought I'm going to do something special for you, just for you my friends. The result of which is the above landscape sketch in charcoal pencil right off my sketch pad. :-)

Yes, this post is something different this time. Because this is a GIFT to all my wonderful FRIENDS in the blog, old and new, visible and invisible.

WHAT LESSONS HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM LIFE?

So many lessons to learn from life through the years. Don't we all know it! So many that I lack fingers to count them with Lols! I have put down just five (there's more of course) here which had great impact on my life at those times it appeared. Experiences and lessons I will never ever forget.

Knowing how much the same we each are to one another -- basically running through the same tapestry of life experiences -- wherever you are in the world, whatever you do in life... would you perhaps be interested to share your own life lessons here in the blog with me? There will be so much you can share, I am sure, and I can learn from you too. Life is too short to learn everything there is to learn... and our lives just one to get them all in. So how about it? I'll be waiting.

Here's my list:
- Life doesn’t throw you punches if it doesn’t know you can’t take them
- Freedom in everything means accountability and responsibility too
- It is okay to be yourself but it is absolutely not okay to behave insensitively of others
- Where all else may fail, faith and hope gets you trying one more time
- Always there will be strength you thought wasn’t there
