WRITE BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE CAN OR WILL WRITE IT FOR YOU

To someone out there who has this huge dream, or even the smallest dream of writing.... allow me to say this .........

Write because nobody else can or will write it for you.

Your talent is not meant to be stored away in a dark corner languishing in anonymity. If you are afraid that people may not like it nor read it. That's the least of your problem. What should concern you is what your heart is nudging you to do. And if it says 'write'.... then listen to it and write. Write for the joy of writing. Write because you love to write. Write because you have something to say. Write because it feeds your dreams and your soul.

And don't worry about making mistakes, to do a good thing well you have to make some mistakes along the way. But learn and learn well. Don't fake it; write what you know. And remember that a good piece of writing is one which a reader after reading comes out of it thinking. And when he does that --- Congratulations! you done well where it truly matters! You have made the connection.

Believe that you can....... and you certainly can!!
Good luck! Blessings to you.

  1. "Write because nobody else can or will write it for you" is a beautiful and wise quote. It is not disputed.Still there are phases when our mind refuses to cooperate even when the heart nudges us to write.Luckily such phases are shortlived

  3. Hi KP! By the way, that quote is by esd. lols! :-) :-) Yeah I know what you mean by that. Some call it a 'writer's block'. Just deal with it. It passes and pretty soon you'll be back to your usual writing mode again. Great to see you today. Thanks for the lovely visit. Blessings!

  9. Hello Ellen,

Very inspiring message. I need this motivation. I want to write but I try to avoid racking my brain and sitting at the computer long hours thinking what to write. I have a burning desire to write but somehow I can't get to it. I give it up easily.

So also, I always wanted to read as many books as possible. I bring books from the library and also buy books but I return the books back to the library without reading them and the books I bought are lying in my house unread and dust accumulated. The same thing with my writing. I tell myself I must write something and perhaps publish a book but I never get to it. Perhaps I am lazy, I only indulge in wishful thinking and live in a dream world. When it comes to practical application of mind and effort, I just don't have the will power and determination. I know this is a inherent weakness in me. I always want to take the easy way out. I have to change my mental make up, I have to discipline myself, I have to go through the tedium of thinking and writing a few hours every day. Here in come your words of motivation, nudging me to get down to my task or as you said the joy of writing because no one else will else will do it for me.

    Wish you all the best,
    Joseph

  10. Hi Joseph! So nice to see you here again :-) I say go for it... go for your dream. It's not going to be easy but pursuing a dream never is. We know that. Wish you all the best and tons of prayers to go along with it. I look forward to that day when I would be lining up for a book signing queue --- yours! :-)
