"THE ROSE" - In Memory Of A Love

Let the song speak to your heart as it has spoken to mine.
It's my favorite song and I hope it will be yours, too.
I'm including here the lyrics just in case someone may want it.
-----------
Some say love, it is a river,
that drowns the tender reed,
Some say love, it is a razor,
that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger,
and endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you, its only seed.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
that never learns to dance,
It's the dream afraid of waking,
that never takes the chance.
It's the one, who won't be taken
who cannot seem to be,
And the soul afraid of dying,
That never learns to live!

When the night has been too lonely,
and the road has been too long,
And you think, that love is only,
for the lucky and the strong!

Just remember, in the winter,
far beneath, the bitter snow,
lies the seed, that with the sun's love,
in the spring, becomes the..........
Rose..

    1. Per Wikipedia.... "The Rose" is a pop song written by Amanda McBroom and made famous by Bette Midler, who performed it in the 1979 film 'The Rose'.

Yes, 'tis indeed beautiful. I was drawn to it from the very first line of the song. It's like everyone can quite relate to it ... at some point or another in their lives. It's pure, honest, and real.

Thanks for coming by and for your comment. I hope the day has been kind to you. Blessings!
