LOVE AS GOD LOVES YOU

It's quite easy to turn your back to the misery of others. But not so when misery hits you. Then you wish that friends wouldn't turn their backs on you.

-"Love one another as much as I love you." - I've heard this spoken so many times, read it a thousand times over. I have realized that none can be more truer than this. God in His magnificent love has given us all of the earth... land - sea - air... under our care and management, for our living joy and pleasure. And too each other to love and care for. Every individual does not stand alone no matter how he says he does and can.. or tries. For no man is an island, each one is dependent to and on another for many different things. I need you as much as you need me. So how is it that we can't... love?

Love will turn the tide. Believe coz it's been done for ages, by many, in different circumstances, with the smallest or greatest of hearts and hands. Love breaks down all barriers -- real perceived imagined.

Don't make it difficult for yourself or for the next guy beside you or for the rest of the world. Love ...and you will make a reality your and everybody's wish that the world were a better place. It'll start with you, me, them, us.

  1. Hi Elen,
Things like love and caring have been replaced by selfishness. Self-gratification has become a virtue.

I can understand what has inspired this article - the fact that your people are going through a tough time - you had written about in your earlier post. How are they coping with it? Has the situation improved?

Here also we are contending with a similar situation - flood due to overflowing of dams and rain. First it was a drought and farmers were waiting for rain and when rains came it rained so heavily that dams overflowed leading to flood.

  2. Hi Indrasish,

Recovery and rehabilitation will be a long process, I understand. Because of limited resources. But it's moving.. and largely with the help of the foreign community across the world.

My people are quite flexible, adaptable, and 'pliant as the bamboo'. Survivor.. runs in their blood and through our long history. They cope as best as they can with the huge challenges they face each day. But I know it's not easy. One just has to look at their faces and see the fears and weariness etched there. I pray that God pour out strength and courage where needed. They can't do this alone; they need help. I pray even more that nobody tires of helping them.

My prayers include too your people hit by the floods caused by the spilling dams. My heart goes out to them.

Thank you for your visit.. and concern. Truly it's appreciated. God bless!

  5. Ellen,

Read 2 posts now. We are too intoxicated in our ownself and with what we have to worry about the ones unfortunate. It is only when we are at the receiving end we realise how wrong we were. God has given us so much and also tests us from time to time to see if we do remember that we need to help each other by the way of sending natural calamities. Sad part is that again it is only few who do stand out to help those who have suffered.

    Take care

  6. That's a very interesting insight, Jack. Well, no matter the grim outlook of the storm aftermath... I can say that it has awakened brotherhood and solidarity among the people. And yet as in everything else in life, it brought out both the best and the worst of men too. But on a positive note, I think the good truly outnumbered the bad.

    Thanks for this lovely visit.
Will be coming to your blog.
    Have a good week.
God bless you and your family.
