THORNS HAVE ROSES TOO

"You can complain because roses have thorns, or you can rejoice because thorns have roses." -- Ziggy

As I stood there under the heat of the blistering sun waiting for my ride, I couldn't help but curse summer. With sweat pouring down my back, the heat of the road bouncing up to my skin, my eyes hurting from the glare shining off from dozens of vehicles wheezing by past me -- what else could I be thinking of?!

Then I remembered ---- I had a fan in my tote bad, had my shades too, and my hankie scented with floral drops of cologne that I love. So I took them out... wore my shades and the glare bothered me no more. Fanned myself and the heat became bearable. Wiped off my sweat and which in effect left its scent behind glued to my skin... felt good. And then out of nowhere a gust of wind blew, so refreshing and most welcome. And like magic -- put back the smile on my face.

Oh summer can't be too bad ... not with a fan, sunglasses, hankie, and Mr. Wind.

  1. I hope your optimisim rubs off to your readers as well. With the sultry weather continuing down here during the no-rain-spell days, I can't help but be a pessimist! More so, bcoz it's only getting worse with every passing year :(

  2. Hi RGB,

It's really up to the person whether he chooses to see the roses or the thorns... be bogged down by some inconvenience or make the most of the situation. It's really all up to him.

I've felt a temperature of 34deg inside the house and got me irritated and exasperated to the bone. But I thought why not soak in a cool tub or too have a tall glass of coke with lots and lots of ice?!! Time flew and got me through the day. We can't change the weather.. but we can change how we would react to it. The choice is ours to make. :-)

Hey I liked that post you did on the 'extinct species'. Got a big laugh on that one. :-)

    Thanks for the visit.
Take care. God bless you and your family.

  4. Oh how I can relate with that, Sana. But we just have to try to overcome this heat. It won't go away, it might even get worse through the years. We have to help ourselves.. or we won't last a day. Lols!

    Thanks for dropping by.
Oh by the way, your new post is wonderful. :-)
