CURIOSITY GIVE MEANING AND SAVOR TO LIFE

Robertson Davis has this to say..... "Although there may be nothing new under the sun, what is old is new to us and so rich and astonishing that we never tire of it. If we do tire of it, if we lose our curiosity, we have lost something of infinite value, because to a high degree it is curiosity that gives meaning and savor to life."

Yeah, I agree. It's a big wide world out there and there's so much awe and wonder in it. CURIOSITY does and will unlock those doors to us. But how many truly use that key??

The picture above personifies some of us who simply sit back and watch the world go by. Despite the presence of lush beauty or wonder right there before our eyes, better yet surrounding us .... we still don't take notice. But if we use our 'long forgotten' ability to be curious of the world around us, we would then discover how wonderful this world of ours is. And that there is so much yet to uncover, discover, unveil. Unless we let ourselves be moved by curiosity... it won't reveal itself to us nor will we find or see it. But it's there.

  1. Very true. Curiosity is perhaps what drives us on. To find meaning / purpose in our life, to find what lies ahead, to discover life's wonderful surprises, one step at a time! Interesting pic:D

  5. Ellen,

Read 4 posts now. I fully agree on Manners and Heart as a pen. We need to relearn about curiosity from children. They are the best teachers at it.

    Take care

  12. Curiosity - is too significant to be kept alive....I believe its the perspective that matters and we can be curious from very simple things in life!

I am thankful that my parents gave me such a wonderful name. [Jigyasa is hindi word for curiosity:)]

    Keep Smiling Ellen!

  13. That's a pretty name 'Jigyasa: curiosity'. :-) I like it.

I wonder maybe it would be a good balance to having both curiosity and perspective. The first one expresses interest or inquisitiveness in most everything in life and living. The second one is holding the rare ability of discernment. Each could be complementary to the other, don't you think so? :-)

Glad to see you - a pleasure I enjoy. Having wonderful friends here on the blog makes my day. :-)

  16. You're so right, Ellen! Just the other day my brother-in-law got curious about cinnamon, and found out all kinds of facts about it on the internet. I'm going to do some investigating of my own! Think I'll start with...world traveling!
