BE THE LIGHT SHINING OUT TO THE WORLD

This picture is a gem. It's been circulating and shared by many on the internet. (Saw this on a friend's fb page. Had to bring it here. Thanks, DB.) The picture tells us something, doesn't it? You know what, we each can do better with that picture... Make it real. First, print the picture. With a cut out photo of yourself (your face), paste it on the head of the nameless kind gentleman offering his slippers. And with pentel pen in hand in broad strokes write ---- ' YES I CAN! '. Then post this in your bedroom or office wall.

YES I CAN..... be kind and kinder, be more giving and forgiving, be free of biases and discrimination, be compassionate and gentler with suffering brothers and sisters, be generous in thought word and deed for the greater good, be proactive in addressing the immediate issues of my community-my country-my environment, be honest and true in all my dealings, be willing to be the channel of God's blessings to others, and be the steady light shining out to the world.

"There are two ways of spreading LIGHT:
To be the candle or the mirror that reflects it."
-- (Edith Wharton)

  1. Excellent. The greatest joy is in giving to the needy. All the wealth in our hands in this ephmeral life is but a trust given to us to spread joy around for we can carry not a farthing.

  2. Ms.Ellen thank you so much for sharing this post..I am moved and may all those people who have seen this be touched. The pix explains it all and Ms.Ellen..so sad at times also..why would foreigners often extend a helping hand to people? we Filipinos should be doing to our own co-filipinos..so sad because our country is now full of political rivalries, corruption and news are just full of political issues..we alone should do something and start spreading kindness even on our own little ways..passing by Ms.Ellen gudnyt ;)

If we can bring smile to someone, why not?

  4. I really don't have an answer to your question. It's a big question. But maybe we can try for change by starting with our selves. Don't look at the color of his skin (the kind man in the picture) but see it as a universal thing which all people must aspire doing within their respective spheres or beyond the boundaries of the world. We all can ... if we try hard enough. Then we can say that we can make the world, our world, a better place. That's what we all want, don't we?

Always pleased to see you pass by, Sie. Delighted! Blessings to you and yours.
