But learn we should. It is a waste of this precious god-given gift to allow our brain cells to atrophy or our hearts to harden with old jaded blood. There is still more that we can do to and with our lives. All that we need to do is .... learn and learn some more! When you do that you will be in for plenty of surprises unimagined nor ever dreamed of before.
Now this 'teaching'.... As we are eternal students of life, so too are we as 'teachers'. Not as our teachers of those good old days of school but as teachers of life and living. We teach by the way we live our lives. It is true that we all stand connected. Whatever you do with your life will impact, affect, or influence another person in his own, for good or for bad....directly or indirectly. As says this beautiful quote...........

What a great post! It is so true that learning doesn't stop after receiving diplomas. I think it continues through our entire life. And it is helpful that we are willing to learn. Thank you so much for sharing.

DeleteHello Ellen, greetings and good wishes. I agree with you. Our learning doesn't stop after getting degrees but continues all through our lives. Our learning in schools and colleges becomes obsolete after some years and so we have to be up to date. I know an old doctor who did not take the trouble of updating his knowledge. He was doing things in the old fashioned way which did not cure the patient. On the other hand I also know a young doctor who studied the latest techniques and he is doing an excellent job,
ReplyDeleteIn my own case, I bought a key board to learn music. But after a few days I stopped practicing and the key board is accumulating dust. What a waste. Not only I did not learn the music but I also wasted money.
Yes, I agree with you. We are also teachers to others who come into contact with us. It could be our children, our neighbors, our friends etc. They see what we talk and what we do and learn many things from us. So it is important to lead a good life.

DeleteYou know what, I have a keyboard here too. My family loves music. I have long wanted to play music on it with the little knowledge I know of the piano, but it isn't quite enough I soon realized. One must practice diligently to be able to play well.
Anyway, I shifted my attention to water color painting. With no formal training (though I wished that I had), I painted my first landscape armed with a paintbrush, watercolor paint... and bravado. Much to my surprise it didn't turn out so bad, if I may say so myself. My children liked it. :-)
So if we don't succeed in one effort, let's try another avenue of interest. Maybe we will get to uncover or unleash a latent talent we thought wasn't there at all.
