WHERE DOES THIS EMPTINESS COME FROM

You can't blame others for your lonely life .... or blame things. Lonely comes from something within rather than without. You can't say you were not given a chance or a break to make life better for yourself. Because no one else can give that to you.. but you. Broken marriages, wayward children, tough luck, difficult struggles, jerks -- these don't just happen. It comes from somewhere. How do you deal with it? And before you point the finger on something outside of yourself, you better try looking inward. That's where everything starts.

It's an empty life when all you ever did was care for your own desires, wants, dreams, goals. Oh don't get me wrong, those things are fine -- essentials to living. But vigorously staying in it and closing your life to the rest of what life is all about is not going to get you there satisfied content and happy. If all you ever did was you, you will wake up one day alone, lonely and empty. Ask yourself then where does this emptiness come from?

  1. Very well said. When the focus is one self and nothing beyond, you end up being lonely.Nothing that concerns others interest you and others would also find you uninteresting!!Short post but carries a pwoerful message

  2. That's right, KP. This isn't meant to be a solitary life we live. In fact, it's made so that we all stand connected with each other. You may have what I need and vice versa. Talents and skills are spread out to people so that we get to need someone.. somebody.. everybody for something to keep life going. Beautiful arrangement, isn't it? Great God that we have. :-)

  3. Ellen,

You get what you deserve, and you deserve what is due for your acts of commission or omission, knowingly or unknowingly. If you do not involve others in your dreams or desires, then where do you expect them when you need them?

    Take care

  4. Every single word is true... You don't pay attention to others or ignore them... You'll be treated the same way. Life gives you back what you give to life. What goes around comes around. The only way to be happy is to make people around you happy and that's the only mantra.
