TRUTHS ARE ROSES WITH THORNS

----------------------
"Truths like roses have thorns about them." --- (Henry Blinn)

Truths are not always welcome. And why we shrink or shirk from it with elaborately cooked up excuses. Motivated by aversion or diversion from what could be apparent challenges to one's preconceived notion or notions. But all to naught because truth will seek you out. Always. Sooner or later.

Know that to be true?

  1. Great Post, Ellen! How very true! This morning one of my closest friend when i was narrating my daily chore just said this to me. But how many of us are so true to accept the truth as it is????

This itself changes every thing! Only those who value us, can stand by us and look into eye to eye.

twnmplu.... infact, may be u write from the soul.

  2. Hi Reno,

I remember what mom would tell me (long ago) -- 'nobody wants to know the truth.. for it will take you out of your comfortable niche.' Something we all can't seem to outgrow aye? :-) Thanks for dropping by. Pleasure to see you.

  3. Hi Pearl,

We've been friends long and you know most all of my writing since o3 days. You have been quite a perceptive reader of every piece written then and now. So I'm not surprised at all with your comment... i.e. soul :-) Again, you have made my heart smile. Bless you!

  4. I liked the quote on the top of your post.
It is said by Winston Churchill that the truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.Most often we ourselves fear truths to be said of us and live in the comfort of false beliefs.

  6. Very nice, KP. Much can be said about 'truth'.. how it impacts our lives. Best to have it on our side than out of it.

  8. U said it right Elle, not always truth is welcomed positively, if it takes guts to speak the truth, it takes one's whole effort in controlling his own ego and we all know how difficult it is!

    Best wishes..

  9. Hi Prams, this is so true...'it takes one's whole effort in controlling his own ego and we all know how difficult it is!' We are our own enemy. Thanks for the good wishes. Likewise the same back at you, with God's blessings.

  10. Ellen,

We do not realise that once we tell a lie then to cover it we tell another, then another to cover that and this cycle goes on becoming like a web of spider in which we get tangled. Truth, though bitter saves us from this situation.

    Take care

  11. Lies simply weave a vicious cycle that would go round and round endlessly. Glad to see you here, Jack. Blessings to you.
